After a career of over 30 years in the fashion industry I decided to start a new venture. There are so many brands out there, so why start my own in such an overwhelmingly saturated market? Bespoke daily wear for women is neither broadly excepted but through the years, whilst working in various disciplines in the industry, I felt there had to be a market for my business concept — bespoke women’s apparel brought together in a sustainable way.

I founded the company in the winter of 2013 and the first collection I designed were a series of skirts. Since then my collections have grown organically mainly due to the requests of my clientele who kept asking me to design their entire wardrobe. So things grew, from a mono collection to an allround fashion brand even though still at a humble scale. Nowadays Marmelstein has a range of Ready to Wear (RTW) coats, pants, dresses, tops, bags and accessories for daily wear crossing over to evening attire and not to mention the business apparel.

At the end of ‘21 I will be launching an exclusive Ready to Wear collection for the online shop. I’m also excited about the newly launched handmade cushions, jewellery and bags collection as well as our collaboration with the the genderless perfumes of Von Eusersdorff and Arquiste which I personally curated for the e-store.

Over the period of time I’ve come to the understanding that a more diverse and broader collection of items makes shopping more convenient and fun for my clients. It’s a joy to be working in a never ending environment of opportunities with people and fashion while using my creativity.
